Public Service Commission Scholarship

SP Photography Club’s President (AY15/16), Tan Jing Yu William, received the PSC Scholarship. Our heartiest Congratulations!

More than 2,700 applicants applied for the Public Service Commission (PSC) Scholarship. Among the 73 scholarship recipients this year is SP’s Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering graduate William Tan, who will be pursuing a joint degree in Engineering and Business Management at the Singapore University of Technology and Design and the Singapore Management University.

For William, his late grandfather was the driving force for him to do well in SP. After being diagnosed with dementia in 2013, his grandfather’s mood would fluctuate erratically. However, his grandfather’s mood “would be quite good for a few days if he found out that I did well (in school)”, according to William.

“So I thought that since there’s nothing much I can do for him, maybe just do whatever little bit I can, so that started my trying to do well in school.”

Sometimes, it’s the little things that go a long way. Congratulations William!
